Kennesaw Seeks Santa Parade Entries

The parade begins at 1 p.m. Dec. 1.

The City of Kennesaw will celebrate the start of the Christmas holiday season with a parade, entertainment and tree lighting downtown on Saturday, December 1.

The festivities are highlighted by a parade in downtown Kennesaw featuring local marching bands and musical ensembles, costumed characters, designer floats and live reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh. The parade, which begins at 1 p.m., will last about one hour. The parade route begins near the intersection of Park Drive and Main Street, and will proceed south and east down Main Street past Cherokee Street toward Sardis Street. Parade-goers should arrive early to ensure a good viewing location, and dress in layers to keep warm.

Additional attractions near the Depot until 6 p.m. include visits with Santa, live music and dance performances featuring Kennesaw Parks & Recreation programs and a seasonal variety of food vendors, crafts, and general merchandise. Children’s activities will include a petting zoo and pony rides, inflatable slides, bounces, games and other fun activities.
