Riedemann to Finish Thrash's Term

Kennesaw City Councilman Bill Thrash died May 22 of cancer.

In a 3-2 vote, the Kennesaw City Council this week selected Kennesaw Development Authority member Matt Riedemann as Councilman Bill Thrash's successor.

Thrash died May 22 after a long battle with cancer. His wife sought the seat, but did not get enough votes, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

Riedemann, a resident of Kennesaw since 2002, lives in Legacy Park with his wife and daughter. He works in the real estate industry, and founded Ashford Capital Partners in 2008.

Riedemann will serve the remainder of Thrash's term, which ends Dec. 31.
