Woman Swipes Card, Goes on Shopping Spree

The woman spent nearly $22,000 in the Town Center area.

Cobb police are looking for a woman who used a stolen credit card to purchase items worth nearly $22,000.

About 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, the woman went to an undisclosed home goods store off Barrett Parkway, spotted a purse in a cabinet near the cash register and took a credit card out of the wallet, said Sgt. Dana Pierce with the Cobb County Police Department.

From the home goods store, the woman went to an anchor store at Town Center at Cobb and purchased about $6,000 worth of items, he said. Pierce did not name the store.

The woman, he said, was not done. At an area jewelry store, she purchased a diamond engagement ring worth $15,949.40, Pierce said.

Police hope someone will recognize the woman captured in surveillance footage  released this evening, and call the Cobb County Police Department’s Zone 1 Criminal Investigation Unit at 770-590-5779.
