Rhododendron Festival

The

Rhododendron Festival is Bloomin’ Wonderful!

After
a long cold winter, nothing says ‘spring is here’ quite like the blooming of
the Rhododendron at Hamilton Gardens.

This yearly tradition of strolling through the magnificent
and rare beauty of over 400+ rhododendrons in an explosion of colors and varieties
has just been made even more wondrous – the Rhododendron Festival is back at the Hamilton Gardens!

The
Rhododendron Festival begins Friday, April 18th and runs until Sunday, May 18th.
Each weekend, specially selected vendors will be offering a variety of handcrafted
garden art and crafts in Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds upper parking level,
adjacent to the Hamilton Gardens entrance.

Find out what's happening in Kennesawwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

The hours of
operation will be Mondays thru Saturdays, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sundays 11:00
to 3:00 pm. Parking is free.

Fred Hamilton’s greenhouse will be
open to the public for the gardens annual Spring Plant Sale. All proceeds from
this event help to fund the gardens yearly care and upkeep. Featured are locally
grown native perennials, and of course, rare and hard to find Rhododendron and Native Azalea! Towns and Union County Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer any
of your ‘Gardening in the Mountains’ questions as well as giving personal and
group tours in the Hamilton Gardens.

There will be hot drinks and warm sweets
to help inspire your hike through the gardens nature trails.
Don’t let
another blooming season pass you by – come out and visit the Hamilton Gardens Rhododendron
Festival April 18th through May 18th.

The Hamilton
Gardens is a nonprofit, volunteer based organization, so come out and help
support their efforts to carry on and sustain the only Public Botanical Garden
