Kennesaw Santa Day: Parade, Snow Tubing, Tree Lighting

Festivities include a parade on Main Street featuring costumed characters, floats, marching bands and live reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh; music; seasonal food; crafts; merchandise; snow tubing; trackless train rides; a petting zoo and more.

The City of Kennesaw will celebrate the start of the Christmas holiday season with a parade, entertainment and tree lighting in downtown at Depot Park, 2828 Cherokee Street, on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The festivities begin at noon with a parade on Main Street featuring costumed characters, designer floats, marching bands and live reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh. 

The entertainment will continue with live music and dance performances, a seasonal variety of food vendors, crafts, gift and general merchandise.

Festivities will conclude with a Christmas tree lighting program at 5 p.m. 

Children’s activities include free snow tubing down “Depot Hill”, a snow playground, free and pay-to-play inflatables, trackless train rides, a petting zoo and pony rides.

Parade entries will be judged and prizes will be awarded in 

  • Most Humorous, 
  • Most Colorful, 
  • Most Unusual, 
  • Most Spirited, 
  • Most Musical, 
  • Best Entry with Animals, and 
  • Best Overall. 

All judging takes place from a reviewing stand located in front of the city’s Commemorative Park. Winners will be announced during the Christmas tree lighting program.
