Missing Teen Last Seen in Coweta

Joshua James Norris was last seen Friday, March 2.

The has issued a missing person alert for 19-year-old Joshua James Norris.

According to police, Norris was last seen in Coweta County on Friday, March 2, and was last heard from the same day when he sent a text to his father, James Norris. The text stated he was heading back to Kennesaw where he stays part time with friends.

Norris is a white male at approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and 195 pounds. Police said he could be driving a borrowed red 1993 Toyota Celica with Georgia license plate BIC7747.

According to the Newnan Times-Herald, Norris was jailed Thursday on misdemeanor possession of marijuana charges. After being bailed out Friday morning by his father, he told his family he was headed back to Kennesaw. Norris then sent his parents a series of text messages apologizing for getting in trouble, the Times-Herald reported.

In one text, Norris told his mother he couldn't take it, reported 11Alive News.

Monday, someone found the teenager's phone still in Coweta County on the side of Highway 29 just south of Newnan.

The Kennesaw Police Department is working with the Coweta County Sheriff’s
Office in trying to find Norris. If anyone has information about his whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Kennesaw Police Department at 770-422-2505 or the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office at 770-253-1502.
