Call from Concerned Citizen Leads to Homegrown Marijuana Arrests

Three men were arrested on drug-related charges after a weekend tip from a concerned citizen led to the discovery of seven marijuana plants and other drugs in a Kennesaw home.

Saturday, received a call about the possible selling of illegal pills and marijuana at 141 Beech Creek Ct. in Kennesaw, said department spokesman Officer Scott Luther.

While patrolling the area, an officer observed what appeared to be a hand to hand transaction between the driver of a dark-colored car and a man who exited the home, Luther said.

Luther said Kennesaw police later stopped the driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Patrick Woodall. Woodall was arrested and charged with misdemeanor drug possession, Luther said.

Luther said after further investigation, police obtained a search warrant for the residence and found seven marijuana plants, Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), and Alprazolam, which is used to treat anxiety and panic attacks. Police also found four smoking pipes and other paraphernalia, Luther said.

Luther said the two residents of the home, 18-year-old Justice Weaver and 21-year-old Bryan Sohn, were charged with one count of felony manufacture of marijuana and three counts of felony drug possession.

According to jail records, Weaver and Sohn were arrested Monday at 8 a.m. and are currently being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
