Original Story

Several local police agencies are seeking a trio of suspects who are connected with an early Tuesday morning shooting that has left a Cobb police officer in stable condition at a local hospital.

According to Cobb Police Officer Mike Bowman, the shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. after a traffic stop near Powers Ferry Road and I-285. The officer pulled over a blue Volvo, which was being followed by a red 2011 Ford Fusion with Georgia tag BEX 3690

Authorities found the Volvo at a nearby apartment complex, but are still searching for the Ford Fusion.

Police are looking for three suspects, two men and a woman. One of the males is described by Bowman as white, in his late 20s, with a crew cut and a “Nike Swoosh” tattoo under one of his eyes. He was wearing a red shirt over a black hoodie and denim shorts over black sweatpants.

Bowman told Patch the woman is white with long dirty blonde hair and is wearing a wool cap, a gray shirt and a beige hooded jacket. There is no description for the other male police are searching for.

It is not known how many shots were fired, nor if the officer involved returned fire. This is a developing story and check back with Patch for updates.
