Cops: Kennesaw Man Assaults Wife, 73

He remains in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $35,000 bond.

A Kennesaw man allegedly chased his 73-year-old wife through their home with a 7-inch knife, pushed her and struck her multiple times in the face.

Between 6 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Gary Lee Frachiseur allegedly pushed "his wife down to the floor causing a bruise on her right knee," according to a Cobb County criminal warrant. He is also accused of striking her "in the face multiple times causing bruising to her right eye, left eye and nose," a Cobb County Police Department officer wrote in the warrant.

And that's not all, records show.

At some point, according to the warrant, Frachiseur chased his wife through their home with the knife, "placing her in reasonable apprehension of immediately receiving a violent injury."

She ran to the basement for help.

The tenant who resides in the basement "advised that accused got within approximately two feet of (the wife) with the knife and that he disarmed accused prior to police arrival," the officer wrote in the warrant.

When police arrived at the home in the 200 block of Dillard Drive, Frachiseur told an officer that his name was George Jones, according to the warrant.

Frachiseur was arrested at 7:20 p.m. Saturday on charges of aggravated assault, family violence battery and giving a false name to a law enforcement officer. While the latter two charges are misdemeanors, the aggravated assault charge is a felony.

He remains in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $35,000 bond.
