National Night Out has been postponed due to inclement weather expected to hit the area this week. The event has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Swift-Cantrell Park.

The is joining other law enforcement agencies throughout the country and hosting National Night Out today in an effort to raise awareness about crime prevention.
In addition, the event focuses on strengthening partnerships between the community and the police department, and letting criminals know that residents are fighting back.

The event runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The police department will have several vehicles on display at and officers will be give special handouts to kids.
