Students in the class told Kennesaw Patch that before stripping nude last week, Taylor had removed some of his clothing during a lecture a few weeks prior.

Kennesaw Patch has not determined whether the earlier incident was reported to school or police officials.

Students said Taylor, a part-time teacher, removed his clothing during a rant about not wanting to live up to other people's standards.

Students also said Taylor broke down and cried in front of the class on more than one occasion.

Steffanie Scialdone, a student in the class of more than 50 students, said: "He didn't flash us for some sick perverted kick out of it. I think he did it to make a point loud and clear to his students: Live life without regrets and shame. And always have an open heart, be forgiving and grateful. He is a very brave man, and I respect him deeply."

She added: "I think it's sad that he got arrested."

According to jail records, Taylor was arrested on the KSU campus and taken into custody Monday evening. He was released shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday after posting $5,000 bond.

"Kennesaw State fosters an environment where students are encouraged to report inappropriate and unethical behavior," KSU interim Provost W. Ken Harmon said in a statement from the university.

"Counselors in the Office of Counseling and Psychological Services are available to students who would like to address this matter," he said.

According to the statement, the university has fired Taylor, effective immediately.

He will not have access to the campus.

"Our academic and public safety officials took this incident very seriously, and everyone involved took swift action to address it," said Arlethia Perry-Johnson, the vice president of external affairs.

"Our utmost concern is for the safety and welfare of our students, and we encourage them to report any incident that makes them feel uncomfortable in the classroom," she said.

Students should report further aspects of the incident to the university's Department of Public Safety, officials said.
