The crash occurred Friday night on Interstate 575 North, just south of the Shallowford Road bridge overpass.

A 38-year-old Woodstock man was killed Friday night in an accident on Interstate 575 North, just south of the Shallowford Road bridge overpass.

Just before 7:20 p.m., Micah L. Andrews was driving a gray 2005 Mazda 3 northbound on I-575 when witnesses said he passed a vehicle in the fast lane.

"Just after doing so, he immediately pulled back into the slow lane when for reasons unknown, the car exited the eastern edge of the roadway, down through the grass shoulder and into a tree," said Sgt. Dana Pierce, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department.
