Mom's Suspicions Lead to Arrests in Skateboard Shop Burglary

Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the May 2 burglary and are looking for a third suspect.

A mother's suspicions have led to the arrests of two suspects in connection with the burglary of a Cobb Place Lane skateboarding shop that occurred .

Police recovered approximately $37,000 worth of skateboards, video cameras, clothing and sunglasses that were stolen from ο»Ώ during the May 2 burglary, Sgt. Dana Pierce of the Cobb County Police told Kennesaw Patch.

While the store hasn't submitted a complete inventory of all the missing items, Pierce said up to $100,000 in high-end merchandise was stolen from the store.

Dustan Brady, 20, of Marietta, and a 15-year-old whose name has not been released due to his age, have been arrested and charged with burglary and theft by taking, said Pierce.

Police got a lead in the case when the mother of the juvenile suspect called in after discovering "very expensive looking things" in her home, said Pierce, noting that the son later turned himself in.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a third suspect, 19-year-old Cordero Brown of Marietta, who also faces charges of burglary and theft by taking.

"We actually had an understanding that he (Brown) would turn himself in, and that is yet to happen," said Pierce. Police continue to look for Brown and encourage him to turn himself in, he said.

According to arrest warrants, one of the suspects entered the store through a rooftop air-conditioning unit and opened a rear door so the other two could enter the building. Video surveillance recorded the burglary, which took place over the course of about 45 minutes, said Pierce.

Brady is currently being held on $90,000 bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
