Bank Employee Charged in Conspiracy Attempt

A Milton bank employee has been charged after an Alpharetta doctor told police he suspected identity theft on Aug. 14.

The victim told Alpharetta police that he received a letter from the PNC bank branch in Milton, advising him of confirmation of a change to his home address. He said he never authorized any address change to his account. He said a branch employee had convinced him to switch to a product called a "virtual wallet," but he never approved an address change.

Aimee Copeland Comes Home

According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, Aimee Copeland is finally back home after four arduous months away.

Copeland contracted a flesh-eating bacteria back in early May after a zipline accident. As a result, she had multiple amputations, including her left leg, right foot and both hands.

Andrea Sneiderman Posts Bond, Out Of Jail

Andrea Sneiderman posted bond Thursday morning and has been released from DeKalb County jail.

Channel 2 Action News is reporting that Sneiderman posted the $500,000 bond that Judge Gregory Adams had ordered during.

Local Man Pleads Guilty to Murder

A Cartersville man accused in an October 2011 homicide on Weems Spur pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder and hiding the victim's body.

Timothy James Whitener, 33, lived on Burnt Hickory Road when he was  of 49-year-old Juanita Grace Thompson, who resided at 419 Sugar Valley Road in Cartersville. Authorities had said they believed Thompson was killed as a result of an argument with Whitener, which may have been about him stealing.
