One Wanted in Kennesaw Forgery

The suspect allegedly presented a forged $8,500 check to an area bank.

Arrest warrants have been issued in connection with two recent instances of forgery at banks in Kennesaw and Marietta.

Mckenzie Harris of Snellville and Shanetta Shuntae Shells of Lithonia allegedly presented to banks forged checks totaling $12,600, according to their warrants, which were issued Saturday.

Just before 1 p.m. May 1, Harris went to the SunTrust Bank at 1184 Ernest Barrett Pkwy. and allegedly cashed an $8,500 check "without the consent, authority or knowledge" of the account holder or the authorized signer, according to her arrest warrant.

About 3:12 p.m. June 10, Shells allegedly did the same thing, this time at the Wells Fargo Bank at 827 Church St. Extension. She presented a check in the amount of $4,100, according to the warrant.

Each woman faces a charge of third-degree forgery. Henry is wanted on an additional charge of theft by taking. Shells faces an additional charge of identity fraud.
