Police Blotter: 10 Charged with Underage Drinking; Barbecue Street Burglary; $57,000 Credit Card Forgery

Here's the latest in Kennesaw crime news from June 7-June 15.

The following information was taken directly from the incident reports between June 7 and June 15. Kennesaw Patch assumes reports are error-free and apologizes in advance for any incorrect information. All people named are accused, not convicted, and should be presumed innocent until the court settles their cases.

Ten Charged with Underage Drinking: Kennesaw Police arrested 10 people between the ages of 19 and 20 on underage drinking charges on the morning of June 11. Police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment at 4045 George Busbee Pkwy shortly before 2 a.m., according to the police report. After checking identifications and conducting breathalyzer tests, police placed 10 of the party-goers under arrest and transported them to the city jail. The following people were all charged with underage consumption of alcohol:

Stephanie Young, 19, of Kennesaw; Selina Ramirez, 19, of Acworth; Ryan Carney, 20, of Acworth; Clayton Callaway, 20, of Marietta; Alex Taylor, 19, of Acworth; Brittany Zentz, 19, of Cartersville; Chevy Smith, 19, of Woodstock; Kyle Bryant, 20, of Taylorsville; Michael Murray, 19, of Woodstock; Charles Koon, 20, of Cartersville.

Barbecue Street Burglarized: About $2,000 was stolen from sometime during the evening of June 8 or the morning of June 9, according to a police report. Police noted a hole in the wall in the dining room of the Cherokee Street business. Someone appeared to have forced their way through the wall from the outside to gain entry into the restaurant, according to the report. The cash had been stored in six bank bags in the office; the door to this room was open but did not have any visible signs of forced entry, according to the report.

Credit Card Forgery: A Kennesaw woman filed a forgery report on June 14 after discovering up to $57,000 had been charged to her credit card. According to the police report, the woman contacted Capital One after her card was declined at Home Depot. She was told that on June 9 through June 11, someone had used her card to make over 200 charges in amounts of $282 each. All the charges were made in California, according to the report.

Stolen Cash Register: A cash register was stolen from on June 12. An employee noticed broken glass from the front door of the Collins Road business when she opened the store that morning, according to the police report. The cash register contained about $50, while the register, itself, was worth about $500.

Drunk in Auto: Brenda Robinson, 51, of Austell was arrested shortly after midnight on June 14 and charged with a DUI. Kennesaw Police stopped Robinson near the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Old Hwy 41 when she failed to maintain her lane, according to the police report. Robinson was unable to successfully perform the walk and turn evaluation and refused a breathalyzer test, according to the report. She was placed under arrest and taken to the city jail.
