Police Blotter: Busted, Burglars and Bad Neighbors

Here's the latest in Kennesaw crime news from Feb. 5-Feb. 10.

The following information was taken directly from the incident reports between Feb. 5 and Feb. 10.

Intent to Distribute, Robbery: On Feb. 5, Jeremy Elijah Segers, 18, was arrested and charged with robbery by force, possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and entering an auto (from a previous warrant). A resident of Trees of Kennesaw Parkway reported that Segers had stolen his laptop and tattoo gun. Upon pursuing Segers and stopping him at the entrance of Cedarlake Subdivision, police opened his backpack and found two bags of marijuana, one of the bags containing 13 smaller bags of the drug. The laptop and tattoo gun reported stolen were also found in the car.

Car Wash Burglary: According to a Feb. 6 incident report, burglars cleaned out over $3,000 from Wash Me Fast Carwash on Cobb Parkway. An employee said he noticed the front door was unlocked but did not become suspicious until he noticed the keys to the sentry cash boxes were missing, as well as the DVR to the security camera system. Upon opening the safe, he discovered all the paper money had been taken.

China Wok Burglary: On Feb. 5, a worker at restaurant on Baker Road reported someone had broken the front glass door to the business and taken $100 from the cash register, $300 from the drawer underneath the register and $70 in quarters from a bank bag under the counter. The restaurant did not have a camera or alarm system.

Copper Theft: On Feb. 9, 45 feet of copper worth $1200 were reported stolen from an AT&T cell tower. The complainant said the crime must have been committed by someone familiar with the cell tower because the padlock code was used to enter the site.

Soccer Ball Dispute: On Feb. 6, police responded to the theft of an $8 ESPN brand soccer ball. According to the report, a juvenile child was playing soccer when the ball entered someone else's yard. According to the child's mother, an elderly female then exited her Woodland Drive home, took the child's soccer ball and went back into the house. The complainant said she attempted knocking on the door, but the woman slammed the door in her face. No one responded after police knocked on the door several times. Police advised the complainant on warrant procedures.
