Police: Mom Left Tot in Running Car

The Marietta woman spent an afternoon in jail after a morning visit to Walmart.

A 36-year-old Marietta woman is accused of leaving her 2-year-old son in a running car March 14 while she was inside a near Kennesaw.

Michaela Lucuanna Clark of the 200 block of Kimberly Way was arrested about 8:30 a.m. at the store on Chastain Meadows Parkway, records show.

She is charged with misdemeanor contributing to the deprivation of a minor, which carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $1,000 fine for a first offender.

She had left her son alone in a running, unlocked Hyundai for 40 minutes, according to the arrest warrant, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Clark spent the rest of that day in jail and was released just before 7 p.m. on $1,000 bond, jail records say.
