Investigator for Secretary of State Arrested

The Kennesaw woman who reported the shooting of her husband March 7 was arrested for possession of marijuana.

The Kennesaw woman who reported the of her husband March 7 is an investigator for the Secretary of State's office and faces misdemeanor drug charges after police found marijuana in her home.

Kennesaw police were dispatched to the Mountain Springs Court house after receiving a 911 call from Melissa Marlowe, 33. She came out to meet police upon their arrival, said Kennesaw Police Officer Scott Luther.

When officers entered the home, they found her husband, Ryan Marlowe, 36, had been shot multiple times.

He was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for his injuries and has not yet given a statement to police as he remains under pain medication, said Luther. One of his kidneys and his spleen were removed, and he remains in guarded condition, he said.

Investigators found marijuana inside the couple's home and charged Melissa Marlowe with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, said Luther.

Marlowe was released on bond for the misdemeanors. Charges are yet to be filed in connection to the shooting.
