Strong Storms Spare Kennesaw

Storms "trained" up along the same path that included Kennesaw and nearby areas, but the city didn't suffer any damage.

The remnants of tropical storm Lee have wreaked havoc with Kennesaw and surrounding areas in northwest Cobb County during this rainy Labor Day.

Kennesaw was under a tornado warning from about 2:30 to 3:12 p.m. and a watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. Our neighbors to the north and west, including Acworth, Powder-Springs, and Cherokee County areas, also battled storms all day.

Strong winds were reported near , but spokesman Scott Luther said there were no reports of injuries or damage within the city. Residents are advised to keep posted to Kennesaw Patch for the latest weather updates.
