Teacher Charged with Drug Possession

Osborne High School teacher Aaron Foster was arrested Tuesday and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

A 31-year-old teacher at was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, according to an incident report obtained by Patch.

According to the report, Aaron Foster of Kennesaw was approached by when he was observed standing outside of 1619 Collins Rd. at about 7:40 a.m. All the businesses at the location were closed, so police decided to investigate, the report says.

As police approached the parking lot, Foster entered his SUV, threw something in the back and shut the rear hatch door, the report states.

According to the report, the officer "smelled the strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from him."

Foster initially told police that he was at the location collecting his thoughts before heading to Osborne High School where he is a teacher and a soccer coach, then changed his story and said he was checking the weather on his phone, the report says.

According to the report, Foster admitted there was marijuana and a glass pipe in his vehicle after police called dispatch requesting a K-9 unit. Foster then apologized for lying to police and said he wanted to stop using marijuana, the report states.

He was arrested, taken to the city jail and charged with one count of possession of less than 1 oz. of marijuana.

According to the Osborne High School website, Foster is a social studies teacher at the school as well as the boys soccer coach.
