Teen Girls Accused of Sexual Assault

Two girls at the Devereux Georgia Treatment Network in Kennesaw are accused of sexually assaulting another teenage resident at the facility.

Two teenage girls at Kennesaw's Devereux Georgia Treatment Network were arrested last Friday on felony aggravated sexual battery charges, according to The Marietta Daily Journal.

The two suspects, Emonaysia Lydeana Banton of Covington, 17, and another female under the age of 17, are accused of sexually assaulting another female resident under the age of 18 on Feb. 5.

According to a warrant obtained by the MDJ, Banton and the underage suspect allegedlly took off the victim's clothes and used a pencil wrapped with tissue paper during the assault.

Banton is being held in jail without bond, and information on the underage suspect is not being released.

According to the website of Devereux Georgia Treatment Network, the licensed facility serves children with emotional and behavioral challenges brought on by abuse, neglect, mental illness, sexual exploitation, or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
