Police Arrest Squatters in Crawl Space of Kennesaw Home

The two men told Kennesaw Police they were homeless and had been living in the space since last week.

Tuesday morning, arrested two men who had been living in the crawl space of a vacant home on Dobbs Drive.

Neighbors told police they saw the two men enter the space. The house is located near the intersection of Kennesaw Due West and Cobb Parkway, about 1.5 miles from

James Nickelson, 21, and Trevor Lewis, 22, told police they were homeless and had been living in the space since last week to get out of the weather, according to the incident report.

Police found evidence of drug use, including a spoon with a small piece of cotton swab and residue on it. The men admitted to using heroin last week and using the spoon to cook it, according to the report.

Police also contacted the former owner of the property, who said the house is currently in foreclosure.

The men were transported to the Kennesaw City Jail and later transferred to Cobb County Jail.

They face felony charges of drug possession and burglary, as well as misdemeanor charges, including criminal trespassing.
