Warrant: Kennesaw Man's Explanation for Drugs Doesn't Check Out

He and a Dallas man have been arrested on multiple drug, firearm and traffic charges in connection with the Aug. 1 incident.

After Kennesaw State University police Thursday morning found cocaine, methamphetamine and other drugs in the floor board of his 2000 Chrysler Voyager, Patrick Solomon Tankoo offered an explanation.

"The accused stated that he was supposed to be purchasing drugs in the area because he was working with the local county police drug task force to help them catch big drug dealers," according to an arrest warrant.

But when Kennesaw State police contacted the task force, authorities said that they did not know Tankoo, who is from Kennesaw.

Tankoo and passenger Joshua Caleb Thomas of Dallas were arrested early Thursday on multiple drug, firearm and traffic charges.

Tankoo is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond. Thomas is being held there in lieu of $20,000 bond.
