Citizens Oversight Committee to Present Findings

The Board of Commissioners appointed a Citizens Oversight Committee in March to look at the county government structure and finances and make recommendations for better efficiency.

The Cobb County Commissioners are poised to hear from a group of residents Tuesday afternoon about ways to improve efficiency and save dollars in a battered economy.

The Citizens Oversight Committee has spent several months going over county finances and the structure of county departments. They will provide a long-term list of service priorities that are/may be conducive to the county's budget aims.

The committee, consisting of 10 members, has been meeting on a weekly basis since March. The committee is divided into four teams with specific departmental and agency assignments.
