Deal Reappoints Kennesaw's Belk

He was among 18 selections announced on Friday.

Gov. Nathan Deal recently appointed or reappointed 18 people to various state boards, and one of the selections is from Kennesaw.

Deal reappointed James Belk to the State Construction Industry Licensing Board's Division of Utility Contractors. The board consists of five divisions that "evaluate applicants for licensure, conducts examinations, issues and renews licenses, evaluates the practice of licensees, takes disciplinary action against licensees, and enforces the requirements for licensure," according to the board's website.

The former owner and president of Welker and Associates Engineers retired after 30 years in the civil/environmental field, according to a statement from the governor's office.

Belk and wife Suzanne have four children and three grandchildren.
