Hundreds Support Fit City Kick-Off

Saturday's kick-off included health screenings, speakers, and sign-ups for upcoming 5K events.

Kennesaw residents came out in force Saturday to get involved in the citywide initiative, which encourages people to embrace healthier habits by promoting nutrition and exercise to combat obesity and improve quality of life.

Kennesaw resident Carol Poirier said she came to the event to sign up and start a healthier lifestyle. "Our city is going to be well respected for doing this, and it will be an additional draw to bring people here," said Poirier, holding up her free T-shirt.
