Council unanimously votes to rezone and annex property that sits on the northwest corner of Barrett and Cobb parkways into the city limits.

The following actions were taken by the City Council at the February 17 meeting:

Authorization for approval of an ORDINANCE NO. 2014-01, 2014 granting a rezoning request submitted by Fuqua Acquisitions, LLC for property located at 1650 Cobb Parkway NW corner of US Highway 41 & Barrett Parkway.  Property identified as a 52.311+/- acre tract in Land Lots 207, 208, 211 & 212 of the 20th District, 2nd Section, Cobb County. Applicant is seeking to rezone property from County MPH and R-20 to City PVC (Planned Village Community) for purpose of commercial development with residential component. Approved unanimously, 5-0. Motion carried.

Authorization for approval of an ORDINANCE NO. 2014-02, 2014 granting an annexation request submitted by Fuqua Acquisitions, LLC for property located at 1650 Cobb Parkway NW corner of US Highway 41 & Barrett Parkway. Authorization for approval of an ORDINANCE NO. 2014-03, 2014 granting a rezoning request submitted by Boone Limited Properties, represented by Pam Carter for property located at 3115 Old 41 Highway. Property identified as Land Lot 127, Tax Parcel 29, 20th District, 2nd Section, Cobb County. Applicant is seeking to rezone from City O&I (Office & Institutional) to City NS (Neighborhood Shopping) for property consisting of 0.69+/- acres for proposed commercial business. Approved unanimously, 5-0. Motion carried.

Consideration to approve variance request submitted by Boone Limited Properties, represented by Pam Carter for property located at 3115 Old 41 Highway. Property identified as Land Lot 127, Tax Parcel 29, 20th District, 2nd Section, Cobb County.  Applicant is seeking variance for a landscaping buffer for property consisting of 0.69+/- acres for proposed commercial business.   Approved unanimously, 5-0. Motion carried.

Authorization for approval of ORDINANCE NO. 2014-04, 2014 to adopt the 2014 Official Zoning Map for the City of Kennesaw. The official Zoning Map, once adopted will reflect all approved annexations, rezoning and amendments up to and including December 31, 2013. Approved unanimously, 5-0. Motion carried.

Approval of a RESOLUTION NO. 2014-08, 2014 authorizing an Intergovernmental Agreement Between City of Kennesaw, Georgia, The Kennesaw Development Authority and The Urban Redevelopment Agency of the City of Kennesaw Georgia Related to the Main Street Mixed use Development.   Approved unanimously, 5-0. Motion carried.

Approval of Urban Redevelopment Agency of the City of Kennesaw, Georgia and the City of Kennesaw Intergovernmental Services Agreement Dated February 1, 2014 and Supporting Authorizing RESOLUTION NO. 2014-09, 2014. The Urban Redevelopment Agency (URA) and the City propose to enter into an Intergovernmental Service Agreement with respect to the URA proposal to issue, sell and deliver revenue bonds known as "Urban Redevelopment Agency of the City of Kennesaw, Georgia Parking Project Revenue Bonds, Series 2014A.  The purpose of the bonds are to finance acquisition, construction, and installation of parking facilities to be located in downtown Kennesaw at the intersection of South Main Street and Watts Drive. Approved unanimously, 5-0.  Motion carried.

Approval of event street closings for 2014.

Authorization for Council to approve Budget Adjustments and Amendments for Fiscal Year Ended September 30, 2013. These budget adjustments and amendments are necessary to record year end budget realignments for CAFR reporting purposes.
