Kennesaw Man Gets 10 Years in Theft Case

Acworth police saw him driving a stolen truck in October 2009.

A 48-year-old Kennesaw man with nine prior convictions on a variety of felony charges in Georgia will spend the next decade in prison.

Nearly four years after Acworth police saw Gary Eugene "Boots" Pearson driving a stolen truck on Oct. 8, 2009, he pleaded guilty today to four counts of fleeing/attempting to elude an officer, one count of theft by receiving, and one count of violating Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act by possessing less than one ounce of marijuana.

When Pearson is released from prison, he will be on probation for five years.
