Kennesaw PD Hiring Two Officers

The positions are included in the fiscal year 2013 budget.

The is hiring two police officers.

The positions had been part of a hiring freeze but . Police Chief Bill Westenberger said the new officers are needed to help address an 11 percent increase in call volume.

According to an e-mail sent to subscribers by the police department, interested candidates must complete a physical agility test before they will be allowed to apply for the positions. The physical agility test consists of 29 sit-ups and 21 push-ups in one minute, sit and reach 17 inches, vertical jump 17 inches and a 300 meter run in 64 seconds. Testing is done on the third Friday of the month at 6 a.m. at the Bobby Grant Police Annex on Cherokee Street. Appointments aren't necessary.

After completing the physical agility test, candidates will must complete a Georgia POST Academy Entrance Exam (Ga. POST Certified Officers are Exempt), background investigation, psychological exam and interview, polygraph examination, drug screen and hiring board interview.
