U-Haul Gets Go-Ahead in Kennesaw

The city council approved two items related to a U-Haul facility on its meeting on Monday.

The Kennesaw City Council on Monday approved two items necessary for a U-Haul facility in the city.

The council unanimously approved an annexation and rezoning request for the 1.49 acres on Cobb Parkway near its intersection with Old U.S. Highway 41. Proposed plans for the property include U-Haul truck and trailer parking, a storage building and RV parking.

The council also approved the purchase of two parcels on Shirley Drive. Original plans were for potential use by the Kennesaw Museum Foundation as additional parking with planned building expansions. However, this need changed, and the Cherokee Street Widening Project has identified these parcels as needed right-of-way for the future CSX overpass.
