Win $50,000 for Kennesaw

Vote in the We Hear You America campaign for the chance to win money for the city's youth.

The City of Kennesaw is gunning for a cash prize of up to $50,000 by mobilizing residents to vote in the We Hear You America campaign from Reader’s Digest.

According to a press release, the city plans to use the winnings to help support and grow its The provides a safe, structured environment for 50 middle and high school students who need a place to do homework, receive tutoring, or just have fun. But the program needs more resources in order to serve more students, said the release.

1. Log on to ReadersDigest.com/America.

2. Enter your zip code.

3. Register (you only have to do this once).

4. Click the vote button. You can cast as many votes as you like.

Last year, 110 towns won funds for their community projects and civic initiatives ranging from building a municipal pool in Genoa, Ne. to replacing fire hydrants in Boley, Ok. The stories of these and other communities were also highlighted and shared by Reader’s Digest.

As of 12:20 p.m. Friday, Kennesaw had 1099 votes. The polls are open until March 1. Show your support for Kennesaw and its young people by casting your vote for 30144.
