Allatoona has just completed a phase of additions to its football stadium. A new turf field paid for by SPLOST III dollars approved by voters in 2008 and an entire set of new bleachers on the home side of the field were just completed about a week ago. The Buccaneers have practiced on the new field for just five days.
Both teams came out looking very offense-oriented.
North Cobb scored on its first possession, with Ty Griffin running the ball in for the game's first score.
Allatoona fired right back, marching down the field on its first possession and scoring on quarterback Jeremy Uzee's run to tie the score.
North Cobb was able to maintain its offensive momentum throughout the first half, scoring three more touchdowns en route to a 28-7 halftime lead. After giving up an early touchdown to the Buccaneers, North Cobb's defense came up with some big stops, including an interception, to slow down Allatoona's offense.
