Kennesaw Mountain Band Ranks No. 7

More than 90 bands from across the country competed this weekend at the Music for All Bands of America Grand National Championship in Indianapolis, "the nation's premier high school marching band competition," according to organizers.

Kennesaw Mountain High has the seventh-best marching band in the country.

Kennesaw Mountain advanced to the finals after topping Tennessee's Franklin High and Nebraska's Bellevue West High in the Class AAA division.

The Mustangs swept every category in the Class AAA divsion to win first place honors for outstanding music performance, outstanding visual performance and outstanding general effect.

The Cobb County School District had two marching bands in Indianapolis. Walton High competed in the Class AAAA division.
