Kennesaw Mountain Helps Peers Afford Prom

Prom is around the corner for high school juniors and seniors across Kennesaw, and young ladies from Kennesaw Mountain High and Allatoona High are doing their part to make the big dance affordable for everyone.

Strength in Stilettos, a non-profit organization that includes students from both schools, will host the 3rd Annual Prom Dress Consignment Sale at Allatoona High from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

Last year, shoppers had the opportunity to choose from more than 400 "gently loved" dresses.

This year, there will be long and short formal dresses, shoes and handbags available for sale.

Individuals in need of extra cash can sell their dresses and receive 70 percent of the sales price. Registration is required for sellers. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 27.
