Kennesaw State Joins 'Harlem Shake' Dance Craze

It seems like everyone is uploading videos of their interpretation of the frenetic dance to YouTube.

The latest incarnation of the Harlem Shake has become a worldwide Internet dance craze.

It seems like everyone is uploading videos of their interpretation of the frenetic dance to YouTube, and Kennesaw State University is no exception.

The university's bookstore recently posted its version of the Harlem Shake on the popular video site.

In all, there are more than 200,000 Harlem Shake videos on YouTube. They all begin the same way. As one person in a mask or helmet dances to the song of the same name, everyone else seems oblivious to what is taking place. But once the song commands everyone to "do the Harlem Shake," the video cuts to a large group of people in masks or costumes dancing wildly.

STOP THE MADNESS !! These videos and music have no connection to the REAL Harlem Shake. See the YouTube video ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5m6sJCbZEkAll ) that keeps it real. Harlemites know this. Even the NY Times ( It's a Worldwide Dance Craze, But It's Not the Real Harlem Shake ) knows it's a rip-off by culture vampires trying to make a buck or for 15 minutes of phony fame. Okay, do enjoy the REAL Harlem Shake --- shake it 'til you break it --- without looking like twitching zombies having a crack seizure. See the New York Times link and REAL Harlem Shake videos ( www.nytimes.com/2013/03/01/nyregion/behind-harlem-shake-craze-a-dance-thats-over-a-decade-old.html?pagewanted=all ). --- JUST KEEPIN' IT REAL !!

Thanks for pointing that out, Harlem Colors. The description under the YouTube video contained links to the very articles you mentioned in your comment.
