is hiring an Associate Vice President for Operations. According to the job listing on the university's website, the selected candidate will assist in directing university operations to meet academic and administrative goals. The candidate will also assist in overseeing approximately 600 staff members within the university's Operations Division. Other duties include representing Kennesaw State at the local, state and national levels.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business, information sciences, operations management, management and leadership, strategic studies, or engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressively responsible tactical, operational, and strategic leadership and management experience related to operational activities.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing large organizations with diverse functions, complying with organizational policies and procedures, and adhering to standards.
  • Sound working knowledge of operations best practice policies and procedures. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication (both written and verbal), critical thinking and problem solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and work collaboratively as part of a team consisting of staff from diverse backgrounds, while providing energetic, proactive, creative, and highly ethical leadership. 
  • Successful record of organizational leadership including strategic planning, program development, and change management. 
  • Experience in developing and utilizing performance metrics for continual best practice process analysis and strategic decision making. 
  • Experience working with business leaders, government officials, and community engagement. 
  • Experience in working with auditors, compliance officers and government reporting agencies. 
  • Experience with evaluating and making improvements in internal controls.

  • Experience as a senior leader and manager (e.g, Chief of Staff, CXO – CEO, COO, CBO, CFO, CIO or similar position) of a large organization.
  • Public safety and police operations experience.
  • Facilities planning experience including operating and maintaining enterprise infrastructure.
  • Budget planning and implementation experience.
  • Information technology and systems support experience.
  • Auxiliary services experience.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • An earned doctorate.
