Kennesaw State University will host a marrow donor registry drive, Jan. 22, in honor of Andreas Economopoulos, son of former KSU professors Marj and Vassilis Economopoulos.

Andreas was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia last fall, and though a matching donor has been found for Andreas and his transplant scheduled, university faculty and staff wanted to “pay it forward” by hosting a “Be the Match” marrow donor drive.

Participants could save a life by joining the “Be the Match Registry.” Patients especially need diverse registry members ages 18 to 44.

A cheek swab is all it takes to be tested.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Prillaman Hall, Room 1001 (Indoor Plaza), 1000 Chastain Road, Kennesaw 30144.
