NCCS Tops National, State SAT Scores

North Cobb Christian School in Kennesaw is one of three Cobb private schools beating out public school SAT scores.

Three of Cobb County’s largest private schools beat the national and state SAT averages, as well as the local public school districts, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

Whitefield Academy, and The Walker School topped the 2011 national average of 1483 and the state average of 1431—by hundreds of points.

All three schools scored higher than Cobb and Marietta school students. Cobb schools held steady, reporting a 1522 SAT average for a second year in a row, while Marietta High School reported a 1482 score, up one point from their 2010 average.

North Cobb Christian School said 100 percent of their seniors took the SAT in 2011, compared to 81 percent of students who took the SAT in the Cobb County School District.

NCCS Head of School Todd Clingman said North Cobb Christian alumni regularly report a smooth transition into college-level academics that is consistently supported by the students' strong college entrance scores.
