New Residential Complex Opens at KSU

University Place II will house upperclassmen at Kennesaw State University.

Some upperclassmen at will live in brand new apartments for the 2012-2013 school year.

University Place II opened on Thursday and, following a ribbon cutting ceremony, students began moving into their new on-campus housing.

“With the opening of University Place II, Kennesaw State achieves yet another milestone in making our institution one of the best residential universities in the U.S.,” Kennesaw State President Daniel S. Papp said in a news release. “Quality academics and a vibrant campus life are essential for any top university, and with the recent completion of this new housing facility and Phase III of the KSU Sports and Recreation Park, Kennesaw State continues to add top-tier facilities to our first-class academic offerings.”

University Place II is a 207,500-square-foot apartment complex featuring 451 bedrooms, in-room and outdoor Wi-Fi connectivity, amphitheater, courtyard, a multipurpose room and a Residence Life office. The new development is located adjacent to , a 700-bed facility.

 began last October. It was paid for by the KSU Foundation with bonds issued by the Development Authority of Cobb County.

With the opening of University Place II, Kennesaw State now has five on-campus residential communities with a total of almost 3,500 beds -- University Place I, University Place II, KSU Place, and University Village Suites.
