Kennesaw Mountain Thespians Best in Southeast

Stage Directions magazine featured the top five theatre programs in the nation in this month's issue.

The theatre program at Kennesaw Mountain High School was named the best in the southeast by Stage Directions magazine, an industry publication focusing on the art and technology of theatre. The November 2012 issue features the nation’s top five high school theatre programs, based on leadership, community support and providing challenging productions for student participation. Eleventh grader Alexandra Fincher nominated KMHS for inclusion, then students, staff, parents, alumni and community supporters were able to vote and provide reasons why the program meets the highest standards.

The KMHS theatre program engages more than 200 drama students in studies of Fundamentals of Theatre, Children’s Theatre, Advanced Acting, Technical Theatre and Advanced Technical Theatre and is led by Coy Dunn, 2011 Cobb County School District Teacher of the Year.
