KSU Hires a Defensive Coordinator

He spent last season at Northern Michigan University as defensive coordinator.

Kennesaw State University head football coach Brian Bohannon has added a defensive coordinator to his roster.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Northern Michigan University defensive coordinator and former Baylor University defensive back Brian Newberry is the latest assistant hired by Bohannon.

More than two months ago, Kennesaw State hired Bohannon as the school's first head football coach for the Owls' inaugural season in 2015. In addition to Newberry, Bohannon has hired six other staff members since the March 24 announcement.

Other hires include Grant Chesnut as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach; Liam Klein and Shane Bowen as assistant coaches; Jay Bailey as director of football operations; and Tim Glanton as A-backs/slot position coach; and Brett Gilliland as quarterbacks/B-backs coach.
