KSU Hockey Play Makes SportsCenter

Justin Day's goal was one of the show's top plays.

Kennesaw State University may not be regarded as a powerhouse in collegiate hockey, but a play against the University of Alabama landed the team on ESPN's SportsCenter.

During Friday's game against Alabama, KSU forward Justin Day (No. 61) managed to fire off a backhand goal.

A clip of the play has gone viral. More than 15,700 people have viewed it on on YouTube.

"ESPN just asked our video partner, Steve Hampton, to release the video of Justin Day's goal for consideration on tonight's Sports Center's Top Ten," someone wrote Tuesday on Kennesaw State University Ice Hockey's Facebook page. "Everyone tune in tonight and hope that KSU Hockey makes a debut on National Television!"

Day's goal came in at No. 2 on SportsCenter's Top 10. 

KSU beat Alabama 8-1.
