KSU Pitcher Selected by White Sox in Draft

Bryan Blough was taken in the 18th round Tuesday.

senior pitcher Bryan Blough was selected in the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday by the Chicago White Sox. He was taken in the 18th round and was the 561st player taken overall.

Blough finished the season with a 4-4 record and a 3.61 earned run average, with which he led the team. Blough was also tops on the Owls pitching staff in starts (14), innings pitched (84 2/3), strikeouts (85) and complete games (2).

According to the Kennesaw State Sports Information Department, Blough was the 33rd KSU player selected in the draft in school history and the second player taken by the White Sox.
