State Soccer Playoffs Continue Tuesday

Girls and boys teams resume action with second-round games.

The Harrison and Walton girls soccer teams will be playing at home Tuesday when the Georgia High School Association state tournaments swing back into action with second-round games.

The Lady Hoyas and Lady Raiders are among 12 girls teams from Cobb, Paulding and Douglas Counties that won last week. Walton and Harrison will be playing host to South Forsyth and East Coweta, respectively, in the Class 6A tournament.

Also playing on Tuesday are Hillgrove at Newnan, Douglas County at Lowndes and Lassiter at North Gwinnett.

In the 5A tournament, Pope is at Flowery Branch, Northview is at North Paulding and Allatoona is at Lakeside of DeKalb.

In Class 4A, the Alexander girls play at Marist, and in Class 3A, Chapel Hill is at home to Peach County.

Mt. Paran Christian is at home in the Class 1A tournament while Whitefield Academy visits Holy Innocents'.

The boys soccer tournament resumes on Wednesday, with nine Cobb, Paulding and Douglas teams having advanced.Β 

Notably missing are the Lassiter boys, who were ranked No. 1 in Class 6A but were upset by South Gwinnett.

In Class 6A, Douglas County will travel to Harrison, North Cobb is at Druid Hills and Campbell is at East Coweta.

Tucker is at Allatoona and Gainesville is at Pope in Class 5A.

Alexander is at Marist in Class 4A and Chapel Hill is at home to Thomson in Class 3A.

In Class 1A, Fellowship Christian is at Mt. Paran Christian and The Walker School goes to Holy Innocents'.
