Good Morning - Nice to be Back

Good Morning,

We thought we would check in after our self-imposed hiatus to see what was happening in the City of Kennesaw?  Seems like it is still functioning at its normal level and the change in seats should allow for some interesting dynamics at the City Council Meetings.

We cannot help but take a moment to remind Councilman Killingsworth and the Mayor of the upcoming elections for them in, what, 2015?  Take a page from Reidemann and Duckett's defeat....make things happen for the good and you get another four years.  Continue to be an impediment to growth in the City and you get voted out.

Note to Leonard Church:  Do the same, but serve your four years and forget about running for Mayor.  We do not need the past dragged up and for goodness sakes watch your spending on that City credit card...open record requests are a great way we can keep track of you in the event you go on more prolific public spending sprees.

So what's on our agenda?  Numbers of course!  We are awaiting the 2013 CAFR report so we can dive into the budget numbers and see what is up or down, in taxes and spending.  On the City's website you can see a short summary of the 2013-2014 budget, but it doesn't give you the finer, granular details that we like to see.

Let's go round the horn from some previous posts to see what we still have on the agenda:

1.  Credit cards for politicians
2.  Pension plans for City Council members
3.  Pension funding for employees

We can let the Museum, Gardens and even the Skate Park slide for now (we think they "grind" at the Skate Park) as we do need some focus in the downtown.

Those will be sufficient for now.  We will be in touch.

Wake Up Kennesaw!
