The "Spending Train"....City Hall or the Museum?

http://mdjonline.com/bookmark/23712871/article-Finances-off-track--Kennesaw-museum--gardens-expected-to-run-deficit-two-years-in-a-row

In today's Marietta Daily Journal front page regarding the Museum. Just an example of the detached leadership (little "l") at City Hall.  The mayor and his voting bloc of Killingsworth, Duckett and the appointed Reidemann are not addressing the spending issues.  Along with Steve Kennedy, City Manager, whose employment contract they control, the spending "train" keeps on rolling.

And it is not limited to the Museum, it is an epidemic that runs throughout the City's established mindset that you, the citizens of Kennesaw, are too lazy to do anything about this.  And they are, unfortunately, correct to some degree.  The level of detachment of the voters of Kennesaw is frightening.  That is why I named the blog "Wake up Kennesaw".

The spending epidemic spans from the museum, to the under-funded pensions, the promises of future retirement benefits for our city workers to what seems to be travel in the guise of week-long vacations paid for by the taxpayers of Kennesaw.  Does it not gaul anyone reading this that the City Manager does not even care to resident in the City of Kennesaw and rides in a city-funded SUV to and from his home?

Voters of Kennesaw are you that lazy and apathetic that you let the mayor control the City, because he can with his voting bloc?  We have two city council people, Jenkins and Welsh, who have tried to correct it.  Yes, I support their efforts and consider Duckett, Reidemann and Mathews to be the problem, not the solution.

This next election is your opportunity to remove these individuals from office and put some real leadership in.  I am overtly in support of Williams, Sebastian and Jenkins who, along with Dr. Cris Welsh can form a voting bloc that will implement spending guidelines for the City, revise benefits to a more equitable solution and bring some Leadership to our fair City.

Wake up Kennesaw.
