When is the 38th Annual Kennesaw Big Shanty Festival?

The 38th annual Superior Plumbing Kennesaw/Big Shanty Festival will feature a parade, Civil War encampment, kids' zone with inflatables, live entertainment and food.

The 38th annual Superior Plumbing Kennesaw/Big Shanty Festival will take place downtown Kennesaw on April 12 and 13. 

Wander through more than 250 booths featuring a vast array of one-of-a-kind and homemade crafts.

The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History sits at the center of the festival. In addition to the Civil War Encampment, an enormous kid’s zone with inflatables big and small for kids of all ages will be present. The Wildlife Wendy Tropical Bird Show and Brian Ruth- Master of the Chainsaw will also be featured at the festival.

Entertainment will include Little General Cloggers, ETO Demo team, Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers, members of Great Gig Dance Studio and more community groups. The two entertainment stages will also feature performances by area schools including Baker, Chalker, Pickett’s Mill, Big Shanty and Hayes Elementary, as well as Awtrey, McClure and Barber Middle School.

To kick off the festivities, a parade will start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 12. The parade will start at Adams Park and continue down Main Street through downtown Kennesaw.

The festival is held in downtown Kennesaw on both sides of Main Street (Highway 293) and is co-sponsored by the City of Kennesaw and the Kennesaw Business Association (a non-profit organization). 

The hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturday, April 12, and noon to 5 p.m., on Sunday, April 13. 

Admission is free.
