I have never been to this restaurant so my 3 star rating just reflects what the average rating is. Why is there such a major difference of opinion here on this place? I see the Patch brass Chastain and Jacobs are rating it at a 5 and a 4 which pumps up the average to a 3 where a hefty 5 rate it at one star.

Who do we believe on this?

Q. Do restaurants with listings here on Patch pay to have their restaurant listed? If so then perhaps there is a reason for the Patch folks rating it very high?

From those reviews from readers I wouldn't even bother to look up their address let alone go into the place.

DO NOT GO THERE....... I usually dont write reviews but after one visit to this place i had to warn others about this place. The Food Was Shitty And Cold..... i have had better stuff to eat from a gas station.... service was horrible, it took them an hour to get the food...it was not even that busy..... i mean i went there to have a good time with my family and friends but i guess that was too much to ask..... so i am never going back to this place again and i would recommend others to think twice before going to this overpriced dump.....

Well Cafe Istanbul 1 is the most nastiest place I have been in! It is filled with smoke, nasty carpets on the floor, it looks like a club, and rude people working there. I have been in Cafe Istanbul 2 about 3 times the food is not that good if you are from Middle-East and you know about food and it is very overpriced. They dont have age limit and they can get really nasty on the dance floor which is not approperiate for the children inside the reasurant to watch and learn. The owner is very rude to you and they are very slow. But if you want to get drunk, smoke hookah, get nasty on the dance floor I guess you would not care! But if you want to enjoy you warm food, in a clean place, smoke your hookah, and be niced to Persian Tea House (Darvish), Cafe Jasmine, Shish Kabob is the right place to go!

I can't say I relate to some of these reviews. I am a regular costumer at Cafe Istanbul and I feel like I'm family there. I always get a taste of Turkey in my rich, abundant entrees, no matter what I get! The ambiance is overwhelming, and it's a fantastic outing for the family, old friends, any one looking to have a good time! The place isn't filled with smoke, and since I myself am not a Hookah smoker, this is something that would instantaneously set me off. I was absolutely pleased with the service, drinks, and the variation of music playing constantly. I love this place and I'll see you guys next weekend!

This place is FANTASTIC, i went there not too long ago with my girlfriend and had a GREAT TIME!!!!! The food was fantastic with very generous portions, our waiter was not only on top of everything but funny too. The dance floor was amazing, and the whole evening was enjoyable!!! The hookah's were lovely and the belly dancer was fun!!! GREAT PLACE, WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING!!!!!!!!!! 5 STARTS!!!!!

What a dump! My wife and I went there because we had a coupon. Imagine walking in the door and finding yourself in some cheesy overpriced Mediterranean restaurant like you'd find in Buckhead, except no good looking people in this one! It turns out they were going to have a DJ that night, they had iced down beer tubs and several of the staff walking around and what appeared to be the staffs' kids running around as well. The host said we could sit anywhere so we sat at one of the "low" tables where you have to sit Indian style. No lie, there were literally only 2 other tables of customers in the restaurant, so basically empty. So we waited and waited and waited without getting waited on. No one even came over and asked us for our drink order. Meanwhile we watched the staff playing around and playing with their kids and talking, but no one helped us. I have NO patience for waiting around and getting crappy service in a dead restaurant so we got up and left. I guess they were more concerned with the anticipation of their other 3 guests showing up that night for their cheesy Wanna be nightclub DJ party!

The owner needs to learn how manage, and not scream at people when they critique his restaurant. After being yelled at for asking to us my groupon, I will never go back to that rats nest. there are so many other good mediterranean places in the area people! Cafe oasis, melody lane, nickys dinner, the persian teahouse!

My family and I went on a Friday night recently and had a great time. The food was very good and seemed reasonable for the portion sizes. But for me the key was the atmosphere; it managed to work for families, college students and groups of middle-aged friends. The belly dancer was talented and interacted well with the crowd. We're planning to go back soon.

I'm kind of on the fence here. The food I thought was really good, maybe it just depends on what you get. The service was on the slow side the though, and the prices were pretty high for what you are paying for.

I also like The Persian Tea House, and Cafe Oasis right down the street if you want that same ethnic atmosphere. Overall it was ok, but I don't think I'll bother going back soon.

I ate here twice and honestly and do not relate at all to these reviews. I thought it was good and authentic. it is a brand new restaurant so it is a little early "to be dirty". I think it is fine. The atmosphere was typical of any Turkish restaurant that I have been to. Overall a great experience!

This place was so dirty. The food was good, but I cringe to think of how many bugs I ate :( there were flies everywhere. The atmosphere was like being in a strip club with the dancers and the smoke and the painfully loud music. Kind of a nasty place, just saying :(

Three things:
1.) The food is over priced.
2.) The service is so slow that when you finally get your food, it is cold. This happened to me twice. Why I went back the second time, I don't know.
3.) The owner's are exceedingly rude and illmannered. After getting cold food for the second time, I told my server (Not in anger) that I wanted to voice the complaint to the manager. They brought out the owner and when I told him, he angrily told me that if I did not enjoy my food I should leave. When I told him I wasn't pay for the cold food he pointed toward the door and told me to "Get the F#%& out then!"

Overall, not a very good experiance. If you want to eat some good Mediterranean food, and smoke some hookah, I would suggest either going to The Persian Teahouse, Cafe Intermezzo, or Melody Lane. Not only will you get a bigger bang for your buck at any one of these places, you also wont get yelled at by the owners.
