A man jumped the counter in the Wade Green Road Rite Aid while brandishing a handgun at an employee.
The Cobb County Police Department is looking for the suspect in a Tuesday night armed robbery at the Wade Green Road Rite Aid. At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, a man wearing a multi-colored motorcycle helmet, long sleeve gray shirt, blue jeans and black gloves entered the Rite Aid, jumped the counter in the pharmacy area and brandished a handgun at an employee, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the department. The suspect, a 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 white male in his early 20s, was also wearing a green backpack. After receiving an undisclosed amount of various medications, he fled the business in an unknown direction on foot, Bowman said. If you have any information about this incident, call 770-499-3945.

The Cobb County Police Department this afternoon released surveillance images of the suspects wanted in connection with Saturday's armed robbery at a Kennesaw jewelry store. Around 10:50 a.m. Saturday, three men walked into Diamonds R Forever and pointed handguns at the employees, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. As one of the suspects grabbed money from the cash register, the other two men smashed several of the display cases and took various pieces of jewelry, he said. He's been arrested in connection with the armed robberies of three Smyrna Subway locations.
Social media helped the Smyrna Police Department catch a Kennesaw man wanted in connection with the armed robberies of three Subway restaurants. On Feb. 1, Smyrna authorities posted surveillance footage of the suspect on the city's Facebook page and asked the public to call the police department with any leads. That move provided detectives with the break that they needed in the case. Someone recognized the man in the footage as 30-year-old John Paul Wigart, said Officer Michael E. Smith, the spokesman for the department. Wigart was arrested this week and charged with three counts of armed robbery and three counts of possession of firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies. According to police, two armed suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from Del Taco.
Two black men fled with an undisclosed amount of cash after allegedly robbing a Kennesaw business. According to a news release from the Cobb County Police Department, the suspects entered Del Taco on Chastain Road through a rear door and ordered the employees to the floor. They forced the manager to open the store's safe, took the money and fled on foot. No one was injured during the alleged robbery. Cobb police said a masked man used a handgun to demand cash before fleeing on foot.
The Cobb County Police Department is investigating an armed robbery which occurred Friday morning at a Kennesaw gas station. According to investigators, a masked man entered the Texaco at 3129 Cobb Pkwy., pointed a handgun at the clerks and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the offender fled the area on foot. The robber is described as a white male, between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall and between 150 to 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie sweatshirt, jeans and a black mask.
